About Us
A Legacy of Love, Craftsmanship, and Community
At Hearth and Stone Venue, we believe every celebration should be as unique and meaningful as the people it brings together. Located on 155 scenic acres in West Tennessee, our venue was born out of a passion for creating beautiful spaces where families can connect, memories are made, and love stories begin.
Designed with Purpose, Built with Love
Hearth and Stone is more than just a venue.
It’s a reflection of the heart and vision of its founders, Donnie and Monica Matthews. With over 30 years of experience designing custom luxury outdoor spaces, Donnie has built a reputation for his unparalleled craftsmanship and attention to detail. Known for his handcrafted stonework and stunning cedar features, he has transformed countless outdoor spaces into functional works of art.
When clients began asking for places to host weddings and events that matched the beauty of his outdoor designs, Hearth and Stone was created. Today, it stands as a testament to the Matthews family’s dedication to God, community, and family.
Donnie’s motto, “It’s all in the details,” is evident throughout Hearth and Stone.
From the Cedar Chapel Pavilion nestled in the woods to the candlelit stone bridal path and romantic reception area, every element has been designed with care. The result is a space that combines the natural beauty of the outdoors with the comforts and conveniences needed for a great experience.

A ceremony yard with seating for up to 150 guests, framed by beautiful greenery and handcrafted details.

A 40-by-60 reception pavilion close to the ceremony area, connected by a winding path.

Convenient additions like plumbed restrooms, bridal dressing areas, lighting, speakers, and heaters.

Overnight accommodations, including discounts on yurts, cabins, and planned glamping sites.
Every detail is thoughtfully designed to help couples, families, and friends celebrate life’s special moments in a setting they’ll never forget.

A Commitment to Family, Faith, and Community
Donnie and Monica Matthews have built their lives around serving others. Donnie’s long history of community involvement includes organizing Mudfest, an outdoor ATV event that supported local families in need for over 12 years, drawing thousands of attendees to raise funds and foster connection. Monica, a certified life coach and children’s minister, has dedicated her life to helping individuals overcome challenges and strengthen their faith.
Together, the Matthews family views Hearth and Stone as an extension of their mission to serve others. Whether they’re hosting weddings, Bible studies, or family-friendly activities, they strive to create a space where people feel welcome, encouraged, and inspired.

Honoring a Family Legacy
Hearth and Stone Venue is a tribute to the values and love instilled by Cheryl Matthews, Donnie’s mother and a retired South Jackson schoolteacher. Cheryl has long been a source of inspiration for the Matthews family. Despite her battle with dementia, Cheryl’s legacy of creativity, love, and community lives on through the connections and joy created at Hearth and Stone.
Our Mission
At Hearth and Stone, our mission is simple: to create a space where love stories begin, families grow closer, and memories are made that last a lifetime.
Every wedding, event, or retreat we host is an opportunity to share the beauty of God’s creation, the warmth of community, and the joy of meaningful connection.
From intimate elopements to grand ceremonies, we go above and beyond to ensure your experience is seamless and unforgettable. As Donnie and Monica often say, “We hope that couples and all who choose Hearth and Stone Venue become part of our family and return often for fun and encouragement.”
